Born and raised in Durham, David grew up in the local village of Sacriston. A big believer in lifelong learning, David has continued his professional development whilst working in practice, determined to collect more letters against his name! He is a Member of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons and is also qualified to train and supervise graduate dentists. Currently, he is undertaking an extended implant course, learning from some of the best implant specialists in the profession. David is married to Katy and they live with their ``Heinz 57`` dog named Socks.
Rebecca joined Kingsgate Dental in August 2015 and has over 9 years of experience of working in the dental industry. Rebecca worked her way up to a senior dental nurse position before going to University and retraining as a Dental Therapist & Hygienist. In July 2014 she spent 3 weeks in Tanzania volunteering in a school and an orphanage, educating the children on the importance of good oral health. An incredibly challenging but also very rewarding experience, Rebecca hopes to do more volunteering abroad in disadvantaged communities in the future.
Michelle has been with the practice for over 15 years and like Christine she is very much considered as part of the fabric of the practice. Michelle and her partner Keith have two young children, Daisy and Kasper. When time permits, Michelle enjoys spending time with her children, shopping online and trying to get fit!
Christine is the longest serving member of the practice and some of our patients would say she is the face and voice of Kingsgate Dental. Having worked in the practice for over 20 years she has an immense amount of experience under her belt and has built the trusting, lifelong relationships at the heart of our practice ethos.
Christine is married to Malcolm and they have two grown up children. Quite partial to shopping, Christine is an expert at timing efficient and productive shopping trips over lunch breaks!
Dee qualified as a dental nurse in early 2013 and started working at Kingsgate Dental while covering Michelle's maternity leave. She went back to University in September 2014 and ultimately aims to become a dentist.
Dee now works at the practice part time, helping to cover holidays and out of hours sessions. This allows her to gain further professional experience whilst softening the blow of having to stick to a student budget!
Naomi joined Kingsgate Dental in October 2014 and is currently studying for her Level 3 advanced apprenticeship in Dental Nursing. A promising young learner, she is already making great contributions to practice in delivering high quality care to our patients. Once she has completed her Dental Nurse Training she hopes to advance her skills further by becoming a Dental Therapist.
Natalie joined the practice in September 2015
Ellie joined Kingsgate Dental in September 2015
Katy is David’s better half and she has been given the job role of “General Helper”. As a Durham Physics graduate and a corporate financier by trade, she doesn't really understand much about teeth. Her contribution is mainly in the background, helping David run the administrative side of the business. You can sometimes spot her making occasional appearances at the practice for emergency reception cover!
Had a private visit with the dentist. I'm from Lincoln and needed my front tooth cap filling back on, as it broke off while eating a nectarine! I had a thorough teeth and gum check-up, teeth polished and I had my cap on my front tooth replaced. Perfect and brilliant job. Very professional work and I highly recommend this practice. Excellent work.
My experience at Kingsgate Dental was a very comfortable and actually enjoyable one. I am not a massive fan of going to the Dentist, but I have had a couple of treatments now by Dr Lamb and both times I have come away feeling very relaxed and not as you would expect after a dental treatment. At my last appointment I needed a filling and I had no pain or discomfort whatsoever. Great service delivered by lovely staff members.
My first visit to David was when he was working in Newcastle, on an emergency appointment. I was in excruciating pain and could not eat, speak or sleep. It was so bad I just wanted the tooth out. However, David was a calming influence and explained my options to me. One of which was root canal treatment and a possibility that the tooth could be saved. His manner put me at ease immediately and I was extremely grateful that he took the pain away! You can tell he loves his work, truly cares for his patients and always takes the time to do his upmost best. Ever since then I have continued to use David and have even followed him to his new practice in Durham.
